Sarah Diagnosed at age 41

"Covid has made this already hard situation much harder as I had to do my last few chemo treatments alone, surgery alone, radiation alone."

Sarah

I am 42, I live in Gilford NH. I am a wife and a Mom of four teenagers, one in her 2nd year of college and three in high school. I was diagnosed on October 31st 2019.

I found my lump myself on a business trip. I was super tired for over a year. No amount of sleep made me feel rested so I already knew when I found the lump it was most likely cancer. I was relieved to finally know what was making me so exhausted. Chemo wasn't bad at first, I did 20 weeks. I had side effects that no one else seemed to have. I had a bladder scope and issues with peeing. The last four treatments I was so sick and weak. Worst I've felt in my entire life. Then I had a lumpectomy and had to heal from that. It wasn't so bad.

Then radiation, my sensitive skin got burned pretty badly and the exhausted feeling was horrible. You don't look sick but feel horrible so family didn't understand my struggle. Now my burns are slowly healing. I have chemo receptor blockers every three weeks until March 2021 and then this lady is done!!

Covid has made this already hard situation much harder as I had to do my last few chemo treatments alone, surgery alone, radiation alone. I've been looking for a support group in my area but haven't found any as no one understands this journey except fellow survivors. Its a lonely place sometimes and I struggle. I hope you all have people supporting you and loving you as cancer is a war on our bodies, mind and spirit.

❤ We got this! This will make us stronger & better versions of ourselves.
