YSC Game Changers: Jenn Beaudet

YSC Game Changers: Jenn Beaudet

Jenn Beaudet is not only a volunteer; she is also a survivor. She started a small group in New Hampshire nearly 9 years ago and has kept the group growing, vibrant and strong. She has set an amazing example of how one young survivor makes a difference in her community. It is evident she truly cares about patients simply by observing her interactions with survivors, volunteers and professionals. Jenn is a fighter, and she continues to fight not only for herself but for all of the survivors she encounters. We are honored to present Jenn Beaudet as a YSC Game Changer for her work as a volunteer.

Jennifer Beaudet - Game Changer

What inspires you in your work to support, empower or educate young women affected by breast cancer?
The impact of the support I received and the connections I made through YSC immediately after my own diagnosis in 2007 inspires me. I strive to connect young women affected by breast cancer in an effort to ensure that no one faces breast cancer alone.

What about your work for young women affected by breast cancer makes you most proud?
I am most proud of the supportive network of young women affected by breast cancer that I have cultivated in my community.

What are your hopes for the future, with regard to YSC and young breast cancer survivors?
My hope is that there will come a time when every young woman is referred to YSC by her healthcare provider as soon as possible after her diagnosis.

What is your message for YSC on its 20th anniversary?
Thank you to YSC's founders and staff for all that you have done for young women affected by breast cancer for the last 20 years!

About YSC and Game Changers
Young Survival Coalition was founded in 1998 by young women diagnosed with breast cancer under age 35.

YSC is made up of people: survivors, co-survivors, volunteers, donors, healthcare providers. Our strength comes from our community. So in our 20th year, we will honor our roots — the people who have helped build YSC into what it is today — and also look forward, recognizing those in our community who are changing the future of breast cancer in young women.

We are highlighting these individuals as Game Changers throughout 2018 and sharing their stories with the world to thank them for their contributions to our community.
